Harrow search warrants net firearms, suspected drugs worth $145K

OPP have seized a cache of drugs more than $145,000 in the town of Harrow, including five firearms, and cash.

A large seizure was made in Harrow after Ontario Provincial Police executed search warrants at a home on Erie View Avenue.

Provincial police say the warrants were carried out May 20 and May 21, and officers located five firearms, ammunition, cash and suspected drugs.

Police say the total value of the seized property exceeds $145,000.

The warrants were executed by members of the Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit, OPP urban search and rescue, the chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive response team, the Essex County OPP crime unit, the OPP emergency response team, and the OPP canine unit, including dog Vinny and his handler.

The OPP says the Canada Border Services Agency provided a backscatter handheld X-ray machine to assist with the search.

No other details have been released.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
