What’s open and closed in Winnipeg on Canada Day

Canada Day is coming up on Wednesday, which means several city services and businesses will be closed or operating at reduced hours.

CTV News has compiled a list of service and business hour changes in effect for the statutory holiday.

Liquor Stores

All Winnipeg and Brandon Liquor Marts will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, except for the True North Square location, which will be closed.

Rural Liquor Marts will be open various hours on Wednesday, with most scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or noon to 4 p.m. The full schedule is available online.

Malls

C.F. Polo Park, Outlet Collection Winnipeg, Garden City Shopping Centre, and Kildonan Place are open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Canada Day.

St. Vital Centre and Grant Park Shopping Centre are closed.

Attractions

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Canada Day. Admission is free for all visitors.

The Manitoba Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Forks is hosting Canada Day celebrations throughout the day on Wednesday. Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with a welcoming ceremony, followed by a citizenship ceremony at 11 a.m. Other events include cultural performances, live music and a dance festival. More information is available online.

City services

Winnipeg city hall and administrative offices will be closed to the public on Wednesday.
