Police in Victoria are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run crash. Officers responded to the area of Cook Street and Caledonia Avenue at approximately 1:26 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Investigators say the collision is believed to have happened about 30 minutes earlier. Paramedics provided emergency medical assistance and transported the victim to hospital in serious condition, police said in a news release. The Victoria Police Department says the crash is under investigation by the department’s traffic analysts and major crime unit. No information was provided related to the make or model of vehicle or age or gender of the pedestrian involved. “Investigators are continuing to gather additional evidence relating to this investigation,” the release said.
