West Kelowna RCMP seize drugs, firearms, cash and more as part of ongoing investigation

A months-long drug trafficking investigation has led to the seizure of multiple firearms, drugs, cash, vehicles and other items at a Kelowna home.

Mounties say the investigation began in October 2025 and focused on two people suspected of distributing drugs in the West Kelowna area.

On Jan. 20, officers searched a home on Mine Hill Drive in Kelowna with help from several police units, including the emergency response team and crime reduction officers.

Three people were found inside the home during the search and were released at the scene. Police also arrested two other people nearby on Enterprise Way. Those individuals were later released while the case is reviewed for possible charges.

Inside the home, officers seized several firearms, including two shotguns, a semi‑automatic rifle, a restricted handgun and a revolver. Police also found thousands of rounds of ammunition, four electric stun devices and a military‑grade ballistic helmet.

Investigators say they also seized about $1,100 in cash and roughly 15 grams of drugs, including crack cocaine, cocaine and fentanyl. Two vehicles were taken as part of the investigation, along with a large number of suspected counterfeit designer purses and bags.

“This is part of an ongoing investigation aimed at disrupting drug‑trafficking networks operating in West Kelowna and residing in Kelowna,” said Cpl. Shaun Achtymichuk of the West Kelowna RCMP’s drug section.

Staff Sgt. Brendan Dolan, the detachment commander for the West Kelowna RCMP, said the combination of weapons and drugs poses a risk to the community.

“The presence of illegal firearms and dangerous drugs in our communities poses a serious risk to public safety,” Dolan said. “Our officers remain committed to targeting those who choose to engage in criminal activity and bringing these investigations forward for charge consideration.”
