Here are the Montreal-area road closures due to construction

Montreal drivers looking to hit the roads on the weekend should be aware of road closures in and around the city, including in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel.

It’s advised to plan trips accordingly.

Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel (A-25)

Northbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the northbound tunnel will be closed between Exit 90 (R-132) on Highway 20 West in Longueuil and the access from Souligny Avenue East in Montreal.

The following will be default closures 30 minutes before:

• The ramps leading from Route-132 East and West (Exits 89-N) to Highway 25 North.
• Access from l’Île-Charron Street.
• Access from Curatteau Street.

Southbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., the southbound tunnel will be closed between Exit 4 (Montreal / Downtown, Jacques-Cartier Bridge) in Montreal and the on-ramp from Île Charron in Longueuil.

The following will be default closures 30 minutes before:

• Access from Sherbrooke, Tellier, and des Futailles streets.
• East Souligny Avenue between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets. The Highway 25 on-ramps.

Honore-Mercier Bridge (R-138)

• From Saturday at 3 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on the bridge.

REM light rail line

• Scheduled work on the network will result in a delayed start to service on July 4 (at 7:30 a.m.) and on July 5 (at noon).

Bridge and Wellington Streets

• From 6 a.m. on Saturday to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Bridge Street northbound will be closed between Mill and Saint-Patrick Streets.
• During the same time, Wellington Street will be closed in both directions at the approaches to Bridge Street.
• During the same time, one of two lanes on Bridge Street southbound will be closed at the approach to Wellington Street.
