Smiths Falls man charged following rear-end crash near Carleton Place

Ontario Provincial Police say a Smiths Falls man has been charged following a rear-end crash near Carleton Place on Tuesday.

Several people had called police to report an erratic driver on Highway 7, speeding and passing vehicles on the shoulder.

The vehicle collided with the rear of another vehicle at around 2:30 p.m. on the highway near Cemetery Road, police said.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated for minor injuries in a local hospital.

The accused is a 20-year-old man, who is facing a charge of dangerous driving.
