London police have identified and arrested two suspects in relation to a May shooting in the downtown core. Khareem Alleyne, 27, of Toronto, and Jahquon Jahzia Lamont, 19, of Scarborough, have been charged jointly with two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, two counts of possess loaded/unloaded regulated firearm, two counts of possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence, and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm. Alleyne has also been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, aggravated assault, and discharging a firearm with intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest. On May 28, police launched an investigation after a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was found at the southwest corner of Blackfriars Street and Wilson Avenue around 3 a.m. The building on the property has commercial units and apartments inside. It was also the previous home to the Blackfriars Bistro.
