Highway 108 traffic stop catches 2 violating release conditions: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police have charged two people following a vehicle stop on Highway 108 in Elliot Lake.

Police said officers conducted a traffic stop on an SUV for a vehicle infraction at about 2:45 a.m. on June 3.

“(OPP) learned (the) occupants in the small red sport utility vehicle were on release conditions to not be with each other,” police said in a news release.

As a result, a 31-year-old local woman and a 30-year-old man from Mississauga First Nation were each charged with failing to comply with a release order.

The two accused were held pending a bail hearing in Blind River on Wednesday.
