Kitchener Rangers advance to OHL Western Conference final

The Kitchener Rangers punched their ticket to the OHL’s Western Conference final with a big 5-1 win over the Soo Greyhounds on Friday night at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

Dylan Edwards’ insurance goal in the second period gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead. Sam O’Reilly would add two empty netters.

Cameron Arquette and Jared Wooley scored the Rangers’ first two goals of the game, erasing the 1-0 lead the Greyhounds initially had.

There was a big celebration on the ice when the final buzzer sounded, as fan cheering echoed throughout the Aud.

The Rangers will face the Windsor Spitfires in the Western Conference final.

It’s the second consecutive season that the Rangers have advanced to the conference final.

The schedule for the Kitchener-Windsor series is expected to be released soon by the OHL.
