Kitchener man arrested following drug trafficking investigation

Waterloo Regional Police have laid multiple charges after seizing drugs, guns and cash from a Kitchener home.

Officers with the Drugs and Firearms Unit (DFU) and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant near Block Line Road and Homer Watson Boulevard on Apr. 10.

They found two firearms, one of which was confirmed stolen, as well as suspected fentanyl, cocaine, oxycodone, hydromorphone and amphetamine. More than $36,000 in cash was also seized.

A 32-year-old Kitchener male was charged with:

• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (five counts)
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts)
• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts)
• Unauthorized possession of a weapon (two counts)
• Careless use of a firearm (two counts)
• Improper storage of a firearm
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a weapon obtained by crime
• Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
• Possession of the proceeds of crime
