Violent sexual offender to be released in Edmonton : police

Edmonton police are warning the public of a violent sexual offender who is being released into the community.

Ryan White, 44, has physically and sexually victimized vulnerable adult women including sex workers, said a news release from the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Wednesday. He has also physically assaulted a toddler and an older adult woman.

EPS believe White will commit another sexual offence against someone while in the community.

White will be subject to a number of court-ordered conditions including a curfew, to not consume or possess alcohol or illegal drugs and he must not attend areas where sex workers are known to be.

He must also notify his assigned supervisor before entering into a relationship with a female and must tell the woman about his criminal history.

“Members of the public are advised that the intent of this process is to enable citizens to take suitable precautionary measures,” said EPS. “Releasing this information is not intended to encourage people to engage in any form of vigilante action.”
