Fuel tanker and passenger bus collide on Hwy. 11 north of Barrie, 1 hospitalized

A fuel tanker and a passenger bus crashed on Highway 11 just north of Barrie.

A crash involving a fuel tanker and a passenger bus on Highway 11 snarled traffic north of Barrie Friday morning.

It happened in the northbound lanes at Line 3.

According to Oro-Medonte Fire Chief Roree Payment, the driver of the bus was treated and removed from the vehicle by Simcoe County paramedics.

They were taken to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters say they worked to contain a diesel leak from the tanker truck while crews secured the area and managed traffic.

Cottagers are advised to expect delays in the area Friday as cleanup operations continue.
