Police release name of woman killed in Wawa collision, 85-year-old charged with careless driving

Police have laid a charge of careless driving following a fatal collision in Wawa last week.

In a media release issued on Tuesday, the Ontario Provincial Police said Anne Hicks, 85, of Wawa, has been charged with careless driving.

On July 28, the OPP said officers were called to the scene of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle at the intersection of Main Street and Broadway Avenue.

The bicyclist died following the collision. Nicole Spencer, 53, has been identified as the deceased.

Hicks will appear in court in Wawa on September 21.
