Construction set to begin on Highbury Avenue South. Here’s what drivers should know

Construction season is officially underway, with a major section of Highbury Avenue South set to undergo a year-long rehabilitation project starting on Tuesday.

According to a news release, beginning on Tuesday construction will get underway for the rehabilitation of Highbury Avenue South from Hamilton Road to Bradley Avenue.

The City of London says drivers can expect lane reductions and adds there will be times during the construction period when exit ramps will be closed.

The rehabilitation project is expected to last until spring 2027.

The project involves the full reconstruction of the roadway, addition of shoulders, resurfacing on and off ramps, upgrading street lighting and traffic signals, and making improvements to stormwater infrastructure, according to the city.

Drivers can expect delays and can follow posted detours. Drivers and transit users are also asked to plan accordingly before heading out.
