Montreal Trudeau airport arrivals area partly closed for parking lot demolition

The arrivals section of the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport is set to be closed from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. daily until May 1.

Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) explains that the closure is due to the dismantling of the airport’s multi-level parking lot.

“All users will be directed to the departures drop-off area,” the ADM said. “It is recommended to allow extra time to get to YUL.”

The organization adds that the P4 and P10 express drop-off areas are “free and open seven days a week” for passengers wanting to avoid congestion.

“These closures have happened over the last few months and have been part of the security measures to safely remove the stair structures that were part of the former parking lot,” said the ADM.

The demolition of the parking lot is part of the airport’s Flight Plan, expected to eventually lead to the construction of a new public curbside area with an estimated three-times capacity, “to improve user services and reduce congestion by 2028.”

“While we have not seen any delays in the morning and are not in a busy travel period at this time, it remains our intention to always advise passengers and traffic reporters when necessary,” the airport authority indicated.

It notes that people should continue to arrive three hours before their flight departure, and always plan ahead.
