Drugs seized and stolen vehicle found following Brantford collision

A Brantford man is facing charges after a crash involving a stolen vehicle.

The collision happened around 11 p.m. Saturday in the Hamilton Avenue and Colborne Street area. Police said the driver of the stolen vehicle got out and ran away, but the vehicle was recovered.

During the investigation, officers spotted a second vehicle circling the area. They pulled it over and determined the driver of the stolen vehicle and a second man were inside.

While searching the vehicle, police seized 130 grams of methamphetamine.

A 40-year-old Brantford man was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

Police also found 11.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3.8 grams of fentanyl and 0.8 grams of cocaine.

The 34-year-old Brantford man was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision, driving without a licence, failure to report an accident, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtain by crime under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
