Drowning death in Grand Bend

Officials in Grand Bend, along Lake Huron, are urging residents to follow public health guidelines at the beach.

One person has died following what police described as a drowning incident at South Beach in Grand Bend.

Around 2:39 p.m. on Sunday, OPP and EMS responded to the area after receiving report of an unresponsive person.

According to police, bystanders found a 67-year-old man in the water, brought him to shore and attempted life-saving measures.

EMS transported the man to South Huron Hospital in Exeter where he was pronounced deceased.
