Three vehicles were set ablaze in Montreal’s Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough Monday night. Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 10 p.m. about the incident on Pierre-de Coubertin Avenue and de la Salle Avenue. “They located the three vehicles on fire and requested assistance from the Montreal Fire Department,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “According to the first information, one suspect would have been seen setting the vehicles on fire and then fled before the arrival of police.” No incendiary materials were found at the scene. All three vehicles, two cars and one SUV, are considered total losses and have been towed for analysis. The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
