East Gwillimbury man charged in alleged human trafficking investigation

In October of last year, a victim reported being sexually assault, trafficked and exploited.

Serious charges await an East Gwillimbury man in a human trafficking investigation, according to police.

York Regional Police Police allege that last October, a victim told officers they had been sexually assaulted, trafficked and exploited in the sex trade from 2012 to 2019.

Police say the alleged assaults were committed at various locations in Vaughan and across Ontario.

The suspect is known to have several aliases and investigators have released his photo as they believe there may be additional victims.

Human trafficking is the exploitation, manipulation or control of a person by violence or threats of violence to provide a sexual service or forced labour.
