Ottawa police say a man is facing charges after three officers and two security guards were assaulted at the Escapade Music Festival on Friday. According to police, the incident occurred on the grounds of the festival at the RA Centre at 9:45 p.m. The man was allegedly intoxicated at the time. Two officers were taken to hospital, one with a concussion and another who required stitches to their hand. Police say they are both “expected to make a full recovery.” The man, a 44-year-old from Ottawa, was arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, two counts of assault and causing a disturbance. “Officers will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to disorderly behaviour or criminal activity that can negatively impact residents, visitors and businesses,” police wrote.
