Tickets to the 2026 Fringe Festival go on sale Monday. This year, a local theatre group will make their debut. Shawna Merasty and her fellow actors from Community Living Windsor’s Creative Community Experience: The Main Event are preparing for two upcoming performances at the University of Windsor, and four performances at this year’s Fringe Festival. Plays are created and performed by actors with intellectual disabilities who collaborate through storytelling improvisation, puppetry, and physical theatre techniques to create around a 45 minute original production rooted in their ideas and lived experiences. Caesars Windsor Cares presented a $5,000 cheque to the crew, which will be distributed between the actors.
