N.S. residents can submit medical files, request health cards with new web portal

The Government of Nova Scotia is launching a new web portal allowing residents to update their Medical Services Insurance (MSI) information, renew a health card and register for programs online.

MSI Online is available to people 19 years and older who have a health card and are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Nova Scotia.

Forms and inquiries will also be able to be submitted electronically through MSI Online, according to a news release from the province.

Yarmouth MLA Nick Hilton says in the release “this will make it easier and more convenient for people to access, manage and update their MSI and pharmacare program information.”

The portal can be accessed through any web browser or through the YourHealthNS app.

Once logged in, the province says users can also:

• register an email address to get notifications
• update address and contact information
• register or renew for the Nova Scotia Seniors’ Pharmacare Program or renew Nova Scotia Family Pharmacare Program coverage
• update organ and tissue donation service
• opt in to participate in medical research opportunities
