Man, 19, facing charges for allegedly pointing firearm at person outside Lunenburg, N.S.

A 19-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a person outside Lunenburg, N.S., Monday evening.

Police say they responded to a home on Riverside Drive in Lower New Cornwall around 5:20 p.m.

A man reportedly pointed a firearm at another man he knew and then fled the home.

The 21-year-old victim was not injured.

Police say they found the suspect outside the property and arrested him.

A search warrant was executed at the home the next day as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police say they seized a firearm, ammunition and an off-highway vehicle.

Kaiden George Retieffe of Lower New Cornwall has been charged with:

• pointing a firearm
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
• careless use of a firearm (two counts)

Retieffe appeared in Bridgewater provincial court Tuesday and was released on conditions.

His next court date is scheduled for July 22.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
