Meadowood house fire sends 1 to hospital

A Sunday afternoon house fire in Winnipeg’s Meadowood neighbourhood sent one person to hospital.

At 5:53 p.m., firefighters were sent to a house in the 300 block of Greenwood Avenue after reports of a fire.

When they arrived, crews found smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire and brought it under control at 6:52 p.m.

Paramedics brought one person to hospital in stable condition.

No injuries were reported and no damage estimates were available. Based on initial observations, the fire was accidental and related to the home’s electrical system, the city said in a media release.
