One person was injured in a targeted shooting in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood early Tuesday morning, not far from Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre. The Surrey Police Service said its officers were called to the area of 106 Avenue and 135A Street at around 3:44 a.m. with reports of a shooting. A woman was found with non-life-threatening injuries, police said, but the suspect had already left the area. Surrey police said the shooting is under investigation and believed to be targeted, but not extortion-related. Just three days prior, the SPS said it was investigating another targeted shooting that happened in Surrey’s East Clayton neighbourhood. Anyone with any information, CCTV, or dash camera footage related to the shooting has been asked to call the SPS at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and quote file number 26-78965.
