Two people have been charged with multiple offences following crime sprees in the Halifax area and southwest Nova Scotia. Police say they responded to a report of a fuel theft at a gas station in Fall River on July 25. A woman driving a Honda Civic had allegedly fuelled the vehicle and left without paying. Another report was made on July 28, saying a Honda Civic had been stolen. According to police, a man and woman had borrowed the vehicle on July 20 and failed to return it. In a news release on Friday, police say they received reports of multiple thefts from businesses in Sackville, Fall River, Upper Tantallon, Bedford, Hubbards, and Greenwood over the following weeks. A woman was identified as a suspect in each case, and in several of the incidents the suspect was seen leaving in the stolen Honda Civic. Halifax Regional Police located the stolen vehicle in Dartmouth and attempted to stop the vehicle on Aug. 10, but it fled northbound on Highway 118. The next day, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a convenience store in Rawdon Gold Mines. They found a man and woman sleeping inside the car, but when the officers tried to arrest them, the RCMP says the driver reversed into a police vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. On Aug. 14, police responded to a reported robbery at a business in the 3600 block of Hammonds Plains Road in Upper Tantallon. According to police, a man and woman had filled a shopping cart with merchandise and left without paying. A nearby officer responded and saw the two people loading the stolen merchandise into a Honda Civic. When the officer tried to arrest the woman, police say she fled in the vehicle, nearly striking a store employee. As police continued their investigation, they learned the pair was in Falmouth, and arrested them in the 2100 block of Highway 1 on Wednesday. The stolen Honda Civic was also recovered in the Windsor area. Nicole Adele Spence, 24, of Dartmouth has been charged with: Leslie Burton Gray, 33, also of Dartmouth, is charged with: Both suspects appeared in court on Thursday. Spence was released on conditions and is set to appear in court again on Aug. 27. Gray remains in custody and is set to appear in court on Tuesday. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
