Vancouver police say a man is facing an assault charge after he was arrested in the Granville Pedestrian Zone on Monday night. According to the Vancouver Police Department, a woman approached officers in the area at around 6 p.m. and pointed out a man who allegedly swung a fist in her direction. When officers approached to speak with the man she identified, police say he allegedly swung his fist at another woman. Police say the man then ran, and a short chase ensued until he was caught and arrested. In a statement, police said this man “has been the subject of several complaints involving violence and confrontational behaviour in the Granville Pedestrian Zone” in recent weeks.
