Regina man accused of multiple arsons in one day, plus one in 2024

A 24-year-old man is facing arson charges in Regina in connection to three separate fires, one of which occurred in 2024.

On March 23, shortly before 7:30 p.m., members of the Regina Fire and Protective Services (RFPS) were dispatched to a garbage bin fire on the 1600 block of Angus Street.

While firefighters put out that blaze, the fire service was alerted to a vehicle which was set alight nearby.

Crews arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames. Police were called to the scene, and quickly determined the fire was intentionally set.

At this point, an arson investigation began. Officers reviewed security footage of the area and not only found and identified the suspect responsible for the blazes – they also found he was responsible for a house fire on the 1300 block Retallack Street on May 5, 2024.

The accused was charged with arson with disregard for human life, two counts of arson causing damage to property and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Friday, March 27.
