Rain mixed with snow expected in Ottawa today

You may want to bring the umbrella with you as you head out the door today, with periods of rain expected through the day.

A freezing rain warning was in effect for Ottawa early this morning, but was lifted just before 6 a.m.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day, with periods of rain beginning this afternoon. High 6 C. The rain is expected to begin around 3 p.m.

Periods of rain mixed with snow will end this evening, then cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers or flurries. Low -9 C.

Friday will be mainly sunny. High -4 C, with the wind chill making it feel like -17 in the morning and -8 in the afternoon.

Saturday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -1 C.

The outlook for Sunday calls for sunshine. High 5 C.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected on Monday. High 9 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 6 C and a low of -4 C.
