OPP offer $50,000 reward for info on missing Smiths Falls man

Ontario police are offering a $50,000 reward for information on the disappearance of a Smiths Falls man, who was last seen nearly two years ago.

Robbie Thomson is believed to have gone missing in 2023, sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18. He was reported missing on Oct. 19, 2023 and would now be 36 years old.

The Province of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Thomson’s disappearance.

Police say Thomson is 6’2” with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes.

According to police, Thomson is known to frequent the Smith Falls area, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of downtown Ottawa, as well as the Prescott area, approximately 95 kilometres south of downtown Ottawa.

“The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Smiths Falls Police Service (SFPS), under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, have been continuing to investigate Robbie’s disappearance,” police said in a statement.

“This has involved multiple searches by the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Aviation Services and Canine Units. Investigators have been following up on a variety of information, including tips that have come in from members of the public.”

Anyone with information regarding Thomson who have not spoken to police, are asked to call a tip line at 1-855-677-4636.
