Ontario Provincial Police say two novice drivers have been charged following a traffic stop on Highway 417 on Tuesday. Ottawa OPP Const. Michael Fathi said the two drivers were seen racing in the eastbound lanes near Moodie Drive at around 2:30 p.m. Each driver was charged with stunt driving. “Both of the drivers, who held G2 licences, received immediate 30-day roadside suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for 14-days,” Fathi said in a post on X. Fathi said the pair face a minimum $2,000 fine, six demerit points and a one-year driving prohibition upon conviction.
