Two people are facing charges in connection with a stabbing and assault in uptown Saint John, N.B., over the weekend. The Saint John Police Force responded to a stabbing in the King Street area around 9:40 p.m. Saturday. Police found a 27-year-old man with serious injuries, and a 54-year-old man who was also injured, at the scene. The victims were taken to hospital, where one remains in stable condition. Police responded to a residence on the city’s east side around 10:15 p.m. after receiving a report that a 19-year-old man was bleeding. Investigators determined the man’s injuries were connected to the incident on King Street and two men were taken to hospital. A 44-year-old man was later arrested for attempted murder and aggravated assault. The 19-year-old was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault. Both men were remanded into custody and were set to appear in court for a bail hearing on Tuesday. “Based on the information gathered by police at the time of the incident, it was determined to be an isolated incident,” said the Saint John Police Force in a statement on Tuesday. “The accused and victims were known to each other.” Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has photos or videos from the scene to contact the Saint John Police Force at 1-506-648-3333.
