Nova Scotia man wanted for sex assault, harassment arrested in New Brunswick

A Nova Scotia man who was wanted for numerous offences, including sexual assault, has been arrested in New Brunswick.

The Nova Scotia RCMP said on Thursday a provincewide arrest warrant had been issued for 38-year-old Jerrad Wade Patriquin of Westchester, N.S.

Patriquin is facing the following charges:

• sexual assault
• two counts of assault by choking, suffocating or strangling
• criminal harassment
• assaulting a police officer
• resisting or obstructing a peace officer
• possession of property obtained by crimes
• three counts of failing to comply with probation

Police have not yet released any details about Patriquin’s arrest, except to say he was arrested in New Brunswick Tuesday morning.

A woman in Wood Point, N.B., told CTV News she saw Patriquin in her driveway and called 911.

Photos submitted to CTV News show a man being led out of a field by RCMP officers.

Some in the area have questioned why the police didn’t issue an Alert Ready message, but the New Brunswick RCMP told CTV News the incident did not meet the criteria.
