A 62-year-old man has been charged after a road construction worker was struck by a vehicle last week in Bonfield, with the driver fleeing the scene. Ontario Provincial Police responded to a collision July 24 on Laurier Street in Bonfield. “A road construction worker sustained minor injuries after being struck by a pickup truck,” police said. “Officers located the driver a short time later and made an arrest.” Highway Traffic Act charges include failing to remain at the scene of a collision, careless driving causing bodily harm and driving without insurance. “The OPP reminds drivers to exercise caution around road workers and construction zones,” police said.
