Bricks fell from a building in central Edmonton during the thunderstorm on Saturday and damaged at least one vehicle. Mikaela Erickson and her fiancé were watching the storm from their patio near Commonwealth Stadium, worried hail could damage their vehicles. Eventually her fiancé went to get something from his vehicle and noticed people picking up bricks next to it. “At first he’s like, ‘What are you guys doing?’ He didn’t know what they were doing, and they’re like, ‘Oh, just picking up the bricks,’” Erickson said. “It was just like some random pedestrians picking them up. He’s like, ‘OK, that’s weird,’ and he actually didn’t notice the damage to his vehicle that night because it was pretty dark out.” It wasn’t until the next morning when he went out that he noticed the damage to his vehicle’s fender. Erickson says they made an insurance claim and they’re glad no one was hurt. “There was people walking from the concert … the Post Malone concert,” she said. “Someone easily could have gotten hit by a brick.”
