The Ontario Hockey League will be starting some of its games early on Friday and Saturday so fans won’t have to choose between their hometown hockey heroes and the World Series Run by the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays are headed to the World Series for the first time in 32 years, with the first game against the L.A. Dodgers taking place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Friday. Because of this, the OHL will be starting two games an hour early: the Barrie Colts and Sudbury Wolves will hit the ice at 6 p.m. instead of 7:05 p.m. while the Peterborough Petes and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds will drop the puck at 6:07 p.m. instead of 7:07 p.m. Two games on Saturday will also be pushed forward as the Jays and Dodgers head into Game 2: the Oshawa Generals will face the Brantford Bulldogs at 5 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. while the Kingstron Frontenacs and Niagara IceDogs will mix things up at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. The Kitchener Rangers will not be change their start time on Friday, but the first game of the World Series will be playing in the concourse for diehard fans who don’t want to split their loyalties.
