‘Old Enough’ filming in Cambridge, Ont. this week

A film company is headed to Cambridge, Ont. to film the Canadian version of a popular Japanese television show.

In ‘Old Enough,’ cameras follow young children as they go on errands by themselves for the first time. The original version has aired sporadically on Nippon Television since 1991.

The series gained worldwide popularity as short clips of the show went viral online.

Now, it is coming to Canada through TVO. The Canadian version will feature kids between the ages of 3 and 6 as they get their first taste of independence, while comedian Colin Mochrie narrates their journey. Filming of the show’s second season is currently underway.

According to a filming notification from the City of Cambridge, ‘Blue Ant Old Enough 2 Inc.’ will be shooting on Callaway Drive, between Sharpe Avenue and Silverthorne Drive, on Thursday.

“Scenes will involve a child walking and playing outdoors,” the notice said.

Neighbours are asked to park their vehicles in their private driveways as the film crew will be parking along Callaway Drive.
