Five-vehicle crash closes Highway 6 in Morriston

A collision on Highway 6 shut down traffic in both directions Tuesday morning in Morriston.

Ontario Provincial Police said it happened around 7:30 a.m. and at least five vehicles were involved, including two transport trucks.

One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“It is reported that the collision caused a load of dry concrete to spill onto the roadway,” OPP said in a media release, adding that the Ministry of Environment has been notified.

OPP asked drivers to avoid the area while the cleanup continued on Highway 6. They said the road remains closed, in both directions, between Badenoch Street and Leslie Road West.
