Mapleview Drive East in southeast Barrie is closed between Chef Lane and Royal Jubilee Drive/Lally Terrace as of Monday. The closure began Monday and runs until Nov. 20, 2026. The city says the closure is required to install a culvert in the Hewitt’s Creek area. As a result of the closure, through traffic will not be allowed on Mapleview Drive, with the exception of emergency vehicles. Instead, residents will be redirected through Yonge Street, Big Bay Point Road and Prince William Way. The city’s bus route 15 will operate on this same route and offers residents a complimentary shuttle service to provide access to Barrie South GO Station and Maple Ridge Secondary School on both sides of the closure.
