Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a robbery that left a store manager injured in Waterloo late Monday night. Police said officers responded to a report of a robbery in the area of King Street North and University Avenue East at approximately 11:40 p.m. Investigators allege five suspects concealed merchandise and attempted to leave a business without paying. When store staff confronted the group, a physical altercation ensued, police said. The store manager suffered injuries during the confrontation. Police did not provide details on the extent of the injuries. The suspects are described as five Black males between the ages of 15 and 18. Police said one suspect was wearing blue track pants and a white shirt, while another was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing.
