There is good news for those travelling to and from Prince Edward Island – a resurfacing project on the Confederation Bridge has wrapped up. The work began in early May and was expected to continue through late June. During the project, which is part of the bridge’s long-term maintenance program, lane closures were in place and travellers waited up to an hour to cross. A spokesperson for the bridge says paving was completed on Monday and the work zone has been removed. Traffic has returned to normal operations between the island and New Brunswick. “We thank travellers for their cooperation throughout the project and wish everyone a safe summer season,” reads a post on the bridge’s Facebook page.
