A structural fire at a sushi restaurant in Bedford, N.S., Sunday morning remains under investigation. Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the strip mall in the Hogan Court area around 8:34 a.m. “Upon arrival, our members encountered active fire conditions and quickly upgraded the incident to a structure fire, initiating an aggressive offensive fire attack. The incident required a significant number of personnel and apparatus to bring the fire under control,” fire officials told CTV News in a statement. Jet Legend, the sushi restaurant where officials say the fire broke out, has been closed until further notice. Three businesses next to the restaurant – Modern Barbers, Oxford Learning and Firehouse Subs – have also been closed. Park West Physiotherapy in the same mall, was unaffected. “I feel terrible for these other businesses… I feel relief for us, but also equally bad for them,” says Mike Macnutt, part owner of the clinic. “Hopefully (they’ll) be open as soon as possible. That’s how these small businesses survive by being open and generating revenue.” CTV News reached out to Jet Legend for comment but did not hear back.
