N.S. RCMP investigating burned truck believed to be involved in gas station robbery

The Nova Scotia RCMP is investigating a burned truck that was believed to be involved in a gas station robbery in Valley over the weekend.

Police responded to the reported robbery on Pictou Road around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday. They learned a pickup truck pulled up to one of the pumps and two men entered the store. One of the men then allegedly displayed a weapon to an employee and demanded money.

Both men left in the truck and police say they did not pay for gas.

Around 3:55 a.m. that same day, police responded to a call about a vehicle on fire in Masstown.

“Officers attended the scene and believe that the truck, which appears to have been deliberately set on fire, is the same truck involved in the Valley robbery,” an RCMP news release reads. “Further checks show that it was reported stolen from Stewiacke on June 27.”

Police say they are looking for two people of interest. One is described as a Caucasian man who stands approximately six feet tall.

The other person is described as a Caucasian man who stands five-foot-five or five-foot-six with blond hair. He was wearing a black shirt, black pyjama pants and black shoes. He is believed to be in his mid-20s.

The truck was a dark-green 2012 Ford F150 pickup. It had a wooden tailgate and black wooden box built into its bed.
