Saint John spending $45M on upcoming construction season

The City of Saint John is spending roughly $45 million on construction projects this year, focusing on improving roads and essential services.

“The City thanks residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation during construction season,” the city said in a news release. “These projects represent exciting investments and improvements that will benefit the community for years to come.”

Some major projects this year include:

• Charlotte Street Transportation Improvement project (estimated cost $4.4 million)
• enhancing the Millidgeville Wastewater Treatment Facility (estimated cost $3.7 million)
• Sydney Street Reconstruction project (estimated cost $1.4 million)
• Canterbury Street Reconstruction project (estimated cost $1.7 million)

The city will also refurbish and repave roughly 31 lane kilometres.
