N.B. EMO forecasts flood warnings this week on parts of Saint John River

New Brunswick EMO's River Watch campaign is past it's halfway mark and there are some warnings in the days ahead.

New Brunswick’s Emergency Measures Organization says parts of the Saint John River will approach flood stage this week, with warnings, watches and advisories in the forecast.

Gagetown is expected to reach the criteria for a flood warning on Monday morning, with Jemseg forecast to reach flood warning criteria on Wednesday. EMO says a warning means a flooding event is certain or is imminent.

Other parts of the Saint John River, including Fredericton, are under flood advisories and watches this week.

EMO says its River Watch campaign is at its first level of ‘enhanced monitoring.’ Level two is ‘partial activation,’ and level three is ‘full activation.’

This year’s River Watch officially began on March 11, with the campaign typically running until early May.
