Whiteout Street Party Round 2 road closures announced in downtown Winnipeg

Fans of the Winnipeg Jets had a lot to say after the team’s Game 7 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Another round of road closures and bus route changes are on the way ahead of the next Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party.

The Winnipeg Jets kick off their second playoff round Wednesday against the Dallas Stars. The Jets host Wednesday and Friday for Games 1 and 2 of the series at Canada Life Centre. Puck drop for both games is at 8:30 p.m.

Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue will close Wednesday starting at 9 a.m. for the Game 1 party, including setup and takedown. It will reopen on May 8 at 7 a.m.

Graham Avenue between Hargrave Street and Smith Street will also be closed in both directions starting Wednesday at 9 a.m. until Thursday at 7 a.m.

For Game 2, the same stretches of road will be closed from 9 a.m. on May 8 and reopen May 10 at 7 a.m.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes, such as Main Street and Osborne Street, and should allow for extra travel time.

Transit buses that use Graham Avenue will be rerouted between Kennedy and Smith streets starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, with regular service resuming Thursday. For Game 2, buses on Graham will also be detoured.

Passengers on buses affected by the reroutes are asked to use stops on Graham Avenue at Fort Street and Vaughan Street.
