Woman forced into Tesla, sexually assaulted in Abbotsford: police

The Abbotsford Police Department released this composite sketch in an effort to advance a sexual assault investigation.

Police in Abbotsford are appealing for information after a woman was allegedly forced into a Tesla and sexually assaulted by the male driver early Tuesday morning.

The victim reported that she was waiting for a friend near the intersection of Gladys and Essendene avenues around 5:30 a.m. when she was approached by a “lone male” driving a white Tesla Model 3, according to a news release from the Abbotsford Police Department.

The suspect allegedly asked her to get into the car before he “forcibly made her enter his vehicle,” police said.

The woman was then assaulted and driven to the 600 block of Mackenzie Road – approximately five kilometres away – where she “managed to escape and seek help from nearby citizens,” the statement from police said, adding that “the suspect was not known to the victim.”

Authorities have released a composite sketch of the suspect who is described as a “heavy set” Hispanic man in his late 30s or early 40s, standing approximately 5’8” tall. At the time of the alleged assault, he was wearing a black tank top, shorts and flip flops.

“No suspect has been identified or arrested,” the Abbotsford Police Department said.
