Police in Prince Albert say a man seriously injured in a hit and run on Friday night has died, and they’re still working to locate the suspect. Fifty-eight-year-old Kenneth Michel was struck by a vehicle just before 11:30 p.m. on Friday in the 2600 block of 2nd Avenue West, in the South Hill area, according to a Prince Albert Police Service news release. Michel was unconscious and in urgent need of medical attention when police arrived. He was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment of what police called critical injuries. On Sunday, Michel succumbed to his injuries. Now, the Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are investigating. Police have found the suspect vehicle, but the driver remains at large. Investigators are asking anyone who saw a red 2005 Acura four door sedan with rear tinted windows the night of July 17 between 10 and 11:30 p.m. to call police or Crime Stoppers to share their accounts. They shared a photo of the vehicle, which can be seen at the top of this story.
