A 71-year-old man died from injuries sustained from a collision with a pickup truck’s door in Halifax last week, according to police. Halifax Regional Police and health services responded to the crash in the 3600 block of Strawberry Hill Street around 1:15 p.m. on Friday. “It was reported that the driver of a pickup truck opened the vehicle’s door into the path a cyclist travelling on Strawberry Hill Street,” a news release from police reads. The cyclist went to hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle received a summary offence ticket. “Thoughts are with the cyclist’s family and loved ones and anyone that has been affected by this tragic incident,” the release reads.
