Man charged with murder 8 years after body found in B.C.: police

A first-degree murder charge has been laid more than eight years after a man’s body was found in Pitt Meadows, B.C., according to authorities.

Ian Roberts, 43, was found deceased on the afternoon of April 30, 2018, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in a statement Tuesday. The discovery of his body came roughly eight hours after his vehicle was recovered in another Metro Vancouver city.

“Over the past eight years, IHIT investigators were relentless in their pursuit to piece together the circumstances surrounding the murder,” an IHIT spokesperson said, in a statement.

“By following the evidence trail, investigators identified key information about Mr. Roberts’ cause of death and the scene where the murder allegedly took place.”

Miikael Tattoo King, who authorities said was previously known as Michael Branden Anderson, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of obstruction of justice last week.

“Investigators believe this was a targeted incident involving parties who were known to each other,” the statement from IHIT said.

No additional information was provided about how Roberts was allegedly killed or the motive for the alleged murder.
